Alicia Rodriguez Law & Policy Fellow

Alicia Rodriguez is a lawyer (HLS ’15) with a background in corporate law and farmed animal law and policy. She is particularly interested in working to combat climate change, improve food security, and reduce farmed animal suffering. Alicia’s current project in the Animal Law & Policy Program aims to identify actionable strategic options for building long-term political power for the farmed animal protection and food system transformation movement in the US.

While a student at Harvard Law School, Alicia served as the president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and founded the university-wide Harvard Vegan Society. She worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom as a corporate litigator and subsequently started a nonprofit, The Land and Sea Institute, which advocates meat reduction and plant-based food policies. Alicia is a board member of The Humane League and a member of the New York and Delaware bar associations.
