New Directions in Animal Ethics and the Future of Animal Studies – Lecture by Dale Jamieson

Screen Shot 2017-03-13 at 1.20.30 PMAt New York University, Dale Jamieson is the Founding Director of the Animal Studies Initiative; Department Chair and Founding Director of Environmental Studies; Professor of Philosophy, and Affiliated Professor of Law.

The NYU Animal Studies Initiative was established in 2010 to represent and contribute to the rapidly growing and exciting interdisciplinary field.  An integral part of NYU’s Department of Environmental Studies, the ASI draws faculty and students from many other departments in the Faculty of Arts and Science, the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and the Tisch School of the Arts.  The Initiative offers an undergraduate Minor in Animal Studies (one of the first in the country), supports graduate and post-doctoral research and teaching, and presents a rich annual program of public lectures, conferences, and workshops.
