Animal Law Conferences

Animal Law is the subject of both annual & biennial national and international conferences, as well as a multitude of issue-specific and regional symposia & events.

The Canadian Animal Law Conference––September 11-13, 2020 on Zoom
This year the conference features five speakers from Harvard Law School, Animal Law & Policy Program Faculty Director Kristen Stilt; Executive Director, Chris Green; Clinical Fellow, Kate Barnekow; Research Fellow Ann Linder; and S.J.D student M.H. Tse.

The Animal Law Conference––Annually each October in Portland, OR
“In 1993, a small contingent of Lewis & Clark SALDF students interested in animal welfare hosted a one-day symposium addressing wildlife issues. From that humble beginning, The Animal Law Conference at Lewis & Clark started its tradition of hosting an annual academic conference to address the subject of animal law.”

Taking Action for Animals––Biennially during even-year Summers in Washington D.C.
Hosted by the Humane Society of the United States, TAFA brings together a diverse array of advocates for a full weekend of presentations, workshops and training sessions. Both newcomers and seasoned advocates alike can find something to learn, and the event usually includes a “Lobby Day” of hands-on engagement on Capitol Hill.
