Clinic files amicus brief in support of listing the Pacific walrus as a “threatened species” under the Endangered Species Act.
The Harvard Animal Law & Policy Clinic today filed an amicus brief in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of six scientists in support of a case by the Center for Biological Diversity challenging the Trump Administration’s refusal to list the Pacific Walrus as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act due to the deleterious effects of climate change on sea ice in the Arctic, upon which the Walrus depends for essentially all of its life functions.
The Brief was drafted by students Rebecca Garverman and Ashley Maiolatesi, with support from Clinical Fellow Kate Barnekow.
