The Animal Law & Policy Program is accepting immediate applications for a full-time, three-month Fellowship to manage a research project involving the preparation of an amicus brief for a pending Constitutional Court case in Ecuador.  The issues in the case are novel and involve questions of legal personhood of animals and rights of nature.  The Animal Law & Policy Program is preparing the brief with the Nonhuman Rights Project.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so applicants are encouraged to submit their materials as soon as possible.  Work will commence as soon as a candidate is selected.  The Fellow does not need to live in the Cambridge area as all work can be performed remotely.

The Fellow will report directly to Professor Kristen Stilt.  Candidates with a JD, LLM, SJD, or other relevant degree are welcome to apply.  Candidates should be proficient in English and Spanish, have familiarity with civil law, and have strong research and writing skills.

The position will be paid at a rate of $30 per hour and does not include benefits. It is open to applicants residing, and authorized to work, in the US.
