Debora Bresch Research Fellow

Debora M. Bresch is a Research Fellow with the Brooks McCormick Jr. Animal Law & Policy Program (ALPP), where she oversees the Farmed Animal Benchmark Project. She is currently nearing completion of an LLM in Animal Law at Vermont Law and Graduate School as a Vermont Law Scholar and recently served as a Legal Fellow in the office of U.S. Senator Cory Booker.

Debora first became involved in animal protection work in the Middle East and subsequently joined the ASPCA Government Affairs Department. She has since drafted and secured key animal protection laws in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, including measures to curb the sale of puppy mill dogs in pet stores, modernize cruelty law enforcement, and obtain millions of dollars for low-income spay/neuter services and infrastructure. Debora also co-founded and served as president of CT Votes for Animals. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College (Columbia University) and graduated cum laude from New York Law School.
