Lla Anderson President

As a kid, Lla had two heroes: Dr. Doolittle and Eliza Thornberry. Convinced that she could talk to animals, Lla tried to communicate with every animal she encountered (lizards, tadpoles, cows, a three-legged baby goat) including her beloved childhood dog, Pearl. Although Pearl, ever-so-patient, put up with Lla’s eccentricities (occasionally fooling Lla into believing that she was on the verge of breakthrough), Lla’s efforts were to no avail. Resultantly, Lla decided that if she couldn’t speak to animals, she’d do the next best thing: speak for them.

Today, Lla is a 2L at Harvard Law School and a second-year MDiv at Harvard Divinity School. A HALS member since 2022, Lla previously held the positions of 1L Section Representative and Campus Advocacy Co-Chair. Additionally, Lla has served as a student clinician for the Animal Law & Policy Clinic and a teaching fellow for the Animal Law course. Last summer, Lla worked for Legal Impact for Chickens as a litigation intern and Mercy For Animals as a Tommy Raskin legal intern.

In her free-time, Lla can be found hanging out with her pal, Turnip (pictured); an avian whose azure eyes are the envy of the skies.
